Full lawn renovation package
This package is designed for warm-season grasses (Kikuyu, Couch, Buffalo) and is best performed between September and February when soil temperatures are high.
Step 1: The Reset (Scalping & Dethatching)
Thatch (the spongy layer of dead organic matter) acts like a waterproof umbrella, preventing rain and irrigation from reaching the roots.
Deep Scalp: We take the grass down to the "crowns" to remove the thick thatch layer.
Power Dethatching/Scarifying: Using vertical blades to pull up the debris that a mower can't reach.
Debris Removal: Full site cleanup and green waste disposal.
Step 2: Soil Health & Oxygenation
Our local clay-heavy soils (common in the Plains) or hydrophobic sandy soils (common in the Dunes) need mechanical intervention.
Core Aeration: Pulling 75mm plugs from the soil to relieve compaction and allow oxygen, water, and nutrients to reach the root zone.
Wetting Agent Application: Critical for South Australia. We apply professional-grade liquid wetting agents to ensure the soil actually absorbs water rather than letting it bead off.
Step 3: Amendment & Nutrition
Custom Fertilisation: A high-phosphorus and nitrogen "starter" blend to encourage rapid root recovery.
pH Correction: Applying lime or gypsum if your soil has become too acidic or alkaline (common in the Adelaide Hills vs. the Coast).
Top Dressing: Application of 80/20 sandy loam or specialized organic top-dress to level out the ground.
Phase 4: The Finishing Touch
Irrigation Audit: We check your sprinklers to ensure 100% coverage, as one "dry spot" in an SA summer can ruin the entire renovation.
Step by step process below:
Scalp
Scarify (dethatch)
Mechanical Aeration
Top Dress
Granular fertiliser and wetting agent
Soil Amendments (lime or gypsum)
Removal of green waste
Complimentary rotary or cylinder mow when lawn has recovered from renovation
*Quote can be provided upon consultation and visual inspection of lawn

Specialised spraying applications
What is liquid fertilisation you may ask?!?
Liquid fertiliser is a type of plant nutrition that delivers essential nutrients in a readily absorbable liquid form. These fertilisers are designed for fast and efficient uptake by plants and can be applied both foliar (through the leaves) and via the roots. This dual application method allows for flexible and targeted nutrition.
Liquid fertilisers are especially beneficial during critical growth stages such as root development. They also offer a more rapid nutrient uptake, producing faster green-up, improved stress tolerance (heat, drought, traffic), and more uniform application than granular options. Ideal for quick recovery, they are immediately absorbed through leaves and roots, allowing for precise, regular feeding during the growing season.
Pest, Weed and Disease management strategies
We provide expert management for weeds, pests, and diseases using professional-grade pre-emergent and post-emergent solutions. Our services are safe, fully accredited, and tailored to give you total peace of mind.
Pest Management in Australian Turf
Key Pests: African Black Beetle, Argentinian Scarab, Billbug, Cutworm, Sod Webworm, and Armyworm are common.
Control Methods:
Preventative: Apply systemic insecticides like Acelepryn in early spring for season-long protection against larvae.
Curative: Fast-acting insecticides for active infestations.
Nematodes: Indemnify is used for controlling parasitic nematodes.
Weed Management in Australian Turf
Common Weeds: Bindii, Clover, Crabgrass, Summer Grass, and Wintergrass.
Control Methods:
Pre-emergent: Apply products like Barricade in late summer/autumn and early spring to prevent winter and summer weeds.
Post-emergent: Use selective herbicides such as Bow & Arrow (broadleaf) or Monument (for Paspalum/Kikuyu).
Cultural Control: Maintain a high mowing height to shade out seedlings and, in some cases, manually remove weeds.
Disease Management in Australian Turf
Common Diseases: Dollar Spot, Brown Patch, Fusarium, Anthracnose, and Rust.
Prevention: Avoid over-watering and excessive nitrogen fertilisation, which can encourage fungal growth.
Treatment: Use fungicides such as Tombstone Duo or Impala to control outbreaks.
Integrated Management Tips
Monitor: Regularly check for symptoms to catch problems early.
Soil Health: Improve soil, as compacted, poor soil encourages weeds.
Watering: Water deeply and infrequently to encourage deep root growth, rather than shallow, frequent watering.
Resistance Management: Rotate pesticide products to avoid pests developing resistance.

Irrigation installs, repairs and maintenance
1. Irrigation Installation
A professional install is more than just burying pipes; it’s a calculated engineering project. The goal is Head-to-Head Coverage, ensuring the spray from one sprinkler reaches the base of the next to eliminate dry spots.
Zoning: Dividing the property into sections based on water pressure and plant needs (e.g., shady grass vs. full-sun grass).
Smart Controllers: Modern installs include Wi-Fi-enabled timers that adjust watering schedules based on real-time weather data.
Backflow Prevention: A critical safety component that prevents irrigation water from siphoning back into your clean drinking water supply.
2. Repairs
Irrigation systems live underground, making them prone to wear and tear from roots, lawnmowers, and soil shifts. Common repairs include:
Broken Heads: Usually caused by lawnmowers or vehicles driving over them.
Leaky Valves: If you see a persistent soggy patch or "bubbling" from the ground when the system is off, a valve diaphragm has likely failed.
Pipe Breaks: Tree roots are notorious for "pinching" or cracking PVC lines over time.
Electrical Issues: Troubleshooting "fault" codes on the controller often involves finding nicked wires underground.
3. Maintenance
Ongoing maintenance is what separates a 5-year system from a 25-year system. Most professionals recommend a Seasonal Service Plan:
Spring: Spring Start-up. Gradually pressurizing the lines to avoid "water hammer" (pipes bursting from air pockets).
Summer: Mid-Season Audit. Adjusting nozzle patterns and run times to combat peak evaporation.
Autumn: Early-Season Audit. Manually run whole system to ensure all pipes, valves, sprinklers and controller is in good working order.
